A class specifically designed for pregnant woman to become more in tune with their body. We will focus on stability, strength and breathing but more importantly we will help you understand and become more aware of the changes and developments that occur in your body during pregnancy. Practicing Pilates helps maintain and improve the condition of both your abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. Pilates will not place strain on the joints or back but will in fact strengthen the back, the stomach and the muscles around the pelvic area. Attending classes throughout pregnancy can reduce Lower Back and Pelvic Pain
Following the birth of your baby we advise that you wait until your 6 week check. If you have had a cesarian section we advise you wait 10 -12 weeks. If you have had any complications during delivery please contact up prior to booking class and we can discuss your options with you.
It is advisable to have a couple of private sessions before going into a class.
Pre natal classes will work on strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominal wall and work on getting you back into your pre pregnancy shape.
There are many changes which occur in the body both during and after pregnancy and delivery. Some of these include Chronic Pevic Pain, Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), Diastasis recti (also known as abdominal separation) and incontinence.

For those of you who need a bit of help with the pelvic floor we can offer an ultrasound scan, this allows us to see how the pelvic floor and other abdominal muscles contract.
